It is mixed in a ratio of 2.5 parts powder : 1 part liquid (e.g. 100g liquid is added to 250g of powder or 240g liquid is added to 600g of powder). It is then poured into a silicone mold (casting mold). It can be colored in advance with liquid coloring (max. 2%) or Glassroxx granules to create a terrazzo effect. How to use: In the detailed description.
Jesmonite is an environmentally friendly and easy-to-use water-based resin that can be easily molded into figurines and decorative objects. The finished product is lightweight, hard and durable.
Jesmonite resin consists of two parts - powder and liquid. Mix in a ratio of 2.5 parts powder : 1 part liquid (e.g. 250 g powder to 100 g liquid or 600 g powder to 240 g liquid).
After the two parts are mixed and stirred well, the resin is poured into a silicone mold (casting mold). Before pouring the resin could be colored by adding liquid coloring agent (max. 2%) or Glassroxx granules to create a terrazzo effect. The resin starts to harden quickly and after 1-2 hours the object can be removed from the mold, but the total hardening time is 24 hours.
Once the object is removed from the mold, it can be further decorated using various techniques: it can be colored with acrylic paint, decorated with the decoupage technique or by stenciling. Effect materials can also be used to give a shiny or antique effect (e.g. wax pastes, antique pastes, metallic effect materials, etc.)
Method of use:
- Pour the liquid into a suitable sized container and weigh the required amount;
- Add the powder to the liquid, the ratio should be 2.5 parts powder: 1 part liquid;
- Stir until smooth;
- Pour into a silicone mold. For better results, you can apply the resin in a thin layer with a brush so that it can penetrate every detail of the mold, and then pour the rest of the resin.
- After 1-2 hours, the figurine can be removed from the mold, but it takes 24 hours for complete hardening.
